Collaborative Architecture Laboratory (CAL) is a New York-based design firm at the intersection of architectural, structural, and environmental design.
Our approach centers on leveraging interdisciplinary expertise and fostering functional programmatic relationships to yield concepts that are intuitive as much as they are innovative.
From conception to completion, sustainable design and future-proofing strategies are employed to ensure that our work is minimally wasteful and produces spaces that last for generations.
At our core, we are a group of diverse designers united by a mission to create projects that are responsible and inspired.
Gabriel Calatrava, Principal
In 2015, Gabriel laid the foundation for CAL, with the hope of creating a space where interdisciplinary experts could collaborate and navigate through intricate design challenges with fresh approaches. Taking on the role of Principal, he guides the design and facilitation of all projects, which span various realms including residential buildings, cultural complexes, office towers, and urban masterplans.
